Facilities Management assists those holding events on Cal Poly Humboldt's campus. 

If your event requires any of the campus support listed below, you must submit an event request through 25Live:

• Serving/selling food
• Using a space not for its intended use 
• Held outside of business hours (ie. after 5pm or weekends)
• Expecting more than 50 people
• If you are hosting an event in a location that is different then its intended purpose (a change in capacity, setup, use, etc.) a State Fire Marshal's Special Event Application and Permit is required. Please view the Fire & Life Safety Division Special Events and/or DAA Fairs pamphlet outlining requirements for multiple special event situations.

Services Facilities Management provide include but are not limited to:

• Custodial (restroom services, mopping, sweeping, trash collection)

• Recycling and Compost Services

• Outside Trash Pickup

• Table and Chair Delivery (no setup)

• Bleacher Positions and Floor Protection Placement for Gyms

• Stadium Light Programming

• Irrigation Schedule Changes

• Electrical service to the event

Humboldt is comitted to zero waste, a strategy that takes a 'whole systems' approach to eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste going to the landfill. Zero waste encourages source reduction, materials re-use, composting and recycling.

Per State law, any single-use food packaging must be locally compostable or recyclable.

If your event will be attended by 2,000 or more people with food served, State law requires that any leftover edible food be donated to a food recovery organization.  The Oh Snap! food pantry on campus and Food For People are two food recovery organizations that accept edible food donations.

All State Supported University groups are not typically charged for these Facilities Management services. Auxiliary Units and Off Campus entities will be charged for services provided.
