Abstract: 
Discussion on the environmental, social, economic and political issues surrounding deforestation and the lack of sustainable resource management in the country of Guatemala. Particular focus is on the town of Concepcion Tutuapa and efforts to reforest local lands along with development of an educational framework which could be implemented in additional locations. Methods for developing sustainable land management and resource usage include sustainable harvesting, nitrogen fixing crops, educational curriculums, test plots and fuel effcient stoves.
Problem Statement: 
Work with the community members to develop means of sustainable land management practices and help restore previously forested lands.
