Welcome to Facilities Management
Fall 2022 - Welcome back Students, Faculty, Staff, and Administrators!
We look forward to a successful Fall semester and seeing our campus come back to life with the new students arriving in August. Facilities Management has been working diligently to complete a number of projects around campus over the summer. We have made progress by addressing the following:
- replacing sections of old/uneven sidewalk and asphalt reducing trip hazards on campus
- replacing flooring in a few of our housing buildings
- replacing the roof in Sunset Hall and JGC (in progress)
- deep-cleaning of carpets and waxing floors in many buildings across campus
- tree/shrub trimming and campus grounds beautification projects across campus
- numerous maintenance projects on plumbing and electrical systems on campus
... just to name a few! We have also updated the Facilities Management Work Order tracking system (FacilitiesLink) to allow for better visibility of key requests and work order requests. If you come back to campus and see areas that still need our attention, please don't hesitate to submit a work request, bus request, or key request. You can now submit all requests: bus, key or work requests through our single webform under the "Customer Service Information" menu bar to the right of this page. We look forward to a successful Fall semester and seeing our campus come back to life with the new students arriving in August.
FM Cost Recovery Policy Update for Campus Chargebacks
The Facilities Management Cost Recovery Policy was revised, adopted by the University Senate, and signed by President Jackson in July 2021. This was in accordance with direction from Cal Poly Humboldt Leadership to reduce the number of internal chargebacks across campus. The non-billable services you've come to expect from FM are still the same, but this philosophy has been extended to include other routine work to maintain and support state owned facilities and assets as nonbillable too. Please see the Policy on the Cal Poly Humboldt Policy page, or call x4475 or email fmservice@humboldt.edu if you have questions.
Keys and Building Access
For the safety of our campus community, please remember that only authorized keyholders are allowed into locked spaces without supervision. You should never unlock a door for anyone that is not a keyholder. Likewise, exterior doors should never be propped open.
Process for Staff and Faculty Leaving Employment with Humboldt: Please remember bring all your keys to the Cashier's office when you check out on the last day of employement. For your convenience, please email Facilities Management Keys at fmkeys@humboldt.edu at least 24 hours before your separating date, and we will then send you an email listing all hard keys and keycards that are still issued to you. You will need to bring all your keys with you to turn into the Cashier's office on your last day on campus.
If you have questions, please contact our Customer Service Center via fmservice@humboldt.edu or call 707-826-3646 M-F, 8am-4:30pm. We are in the office!
