Native Plant Habitat Restoration on Cal Poly Humboldt Campus

File upload:
Abstract:
This group hoped to increase habitat for native vegetation across campus to not only improve the aesthetic quality of campus but decrease maintenance. They surveyed plant diversity in plots across campus to be able to monitor their effectiveness in removing invasive species and improving ecological resilience on the campus.
Problem Statement:
On the Humboldt campus there are many areas that are inhabited by various invasive species. Several non-native plant species are covering and degrading potential native species habitat on campus, creating difficulties in areas of natives to inhabit them.
