Description of sustainability internship with Humboldt County engineering firm, Winzler and Kelly, directed at lowering the firms environmental footprint.

Research into reducing the amount of non-recyclable waste generated from the depot on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt. Project looks at successful campaigns of other universities and contains financial comparisons of two companies with respect to monthly depot purchases.

Development of methods to increase awareness and efficiency of operations at the Reusable Office Supply Exchange program site on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt. Methods discussed include informational signage, advertisement campaign, increased storage/ organization and departmental surveys.

Project develops methods to improve procurement decisions and operations at the Cal Poly Humboldt campus bookstore in efforts to increase sustainable habits.

Project looks into the procurement policy of Cal Poly Humboldt with particular respect to printing paper used on campus. Project contains discussions university policy, recycled papers and pertinent legislation.

General research into the possibilities for the establishment of a refillable glass bottle system for use among local breweries of Humboldt County.

Project looks at the lack of funding sources available for sustainable or waste reduction orientated programs on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt.

Project contains general research into methods aimed at raising awareness of composting benefits and programs in place on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt as well as developing additional resources for increased funding of such programs.
