Cal Poly Humboldt spends almost $3 million annually on energy to serve over 7000 students, staff and faculty. Energy efficient lighting upgrades are the most easily attainable and cost-effective objectives for reducing energy consumption on campus.

The goal of the project is to create a comprehensive plan for sustainable lighting on campus.

Research into methods for a plan to educate and distribute compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) among local businesses and residents of the city of Arcata. Includes the search for matching funding to a proposed $10,000 dollar project donation by a local community member.
